Core Curriculum Slides

The Core Curriculum consists of a PowerPoint slide presentation with video cases embedded. There are several options available to you to view the Core Curriculum. The options, with system requirements for each, are described below. The Core Curriculum can be played directly from the Web (options 1 or 2), or downloaded to a PC (option 3, A or B).

1. View Core Curriculum online

  • To play the videos online you need Real Player, version 8 or higher. If you do not have Real Player, a free version can be downloaded from their website.
    • NOTE: If your network does not support Real Player, you can download a self-extracting file (#3 below) and play the videos in Windows Media Player.
 

2. Download Core Curriculum for use with a web connection

  • In choosing this option, the slides will be downloaded to your PC but the videos will remain online for maximum efficiency.
  • To play the video clips, you must view the curriculum in "Slide Show" mode (Choose "Slide Show" from the PowerPoint "View" menu).
  • To play the videos online you need Real Player, version 8 or higher. If you do not have Real Player, a free version can be downloaded from their website.
    • NOTE: If your network does not support Real Player, you can download a self-extracting file (#3 below) and play the videos in Windows Media Player.
 

3. Self-extracting Core Curriculum for use without Internet

_A. Download self-extracting Core Curriculum without audio narration of slides

  • This is a 16mb file, which may take a few minutes to download.
  • For instructions on running self-extracting files, click here
  • When extracted, the folder is automatically named "curriculum".
  • Double click on the folder to open it, and then double-click on the PowerPoint file named "curriculum" to open the curriculum. You do not need to do anything with the video folder, but it must remain in the curriculum folder.
  • To play the videos, you will need Windows Media Player (WMP) 10 for Windows XP users, or WMP 9 for Windows 2000 users. If you do not have WMP, it can be downloaded for free from the Microsoft Website.


_B.Download self-extracting Core Curriculum with audio narration of slides:

  • This is a 36mb file, which may take a few minutes to download..
  • For instructions on running self-extracting files, click here
  • When extracted, the folder is automatically named "curriculum_audio". Download for Windows 2000 or earlier. Double click on the folder to open it, and then double-click on the PowerPoint file named "curriculum" to open the curriculum. There will be many other files contained within this folder; you do not need to do anything with these files, but they must remain in the curriculum_audio folder
  • To play the videos, you will need Windows Media Player (WMP) 10 for Windows XP users, or WMP 9 for Windows 2000 users. If you do not have WMP, it can be downloaded for free from the Microsoft Website.
